For those Cheapsters out there who love quirky numbers, the number of the day is 12. Not as in the 12 Days of Christmas, though that would also seem appropriate this time of year. As in, today’s date is 12/12/12. This only happens once per century, and both the Indiana Pacers and some nearby restaurants believe it is cause for some celebratory deals.
We’ll start with the Indiana Pacers. They are holding a special 12-hour sale starting at noon today. Fans have the opportunity to purchase $12 tickets in the Krieg DeVault Club Level for any Indiana Pacers home game in December. To clarify, here are the games up for grabs:
- December 12 vs. Cleveland
- December 14 vs. Philadelphia
- December 19 vs. Utah
- December 26 vs. Chicago
- December 28 vs. Phoenix
- December 31 vs. Memphis
Need another reason to drive downtown? You can also stop by your choice of two restaurants that are observing the numerical anomaly of the day. At The Eagle’s Nest, you can purchase $12 bottles of Canvas Wine. At One South, you can take advantage of a $12 pasta bar (for dine-in only).
McDonald’s is selling its famous Big Mac sandwich for $1.12 from 10 a.m. to midnight, limit … what else? 12!
If candy is more your thing, the My M&M online store is offering 25% off any order, any size today with promo code twelve. You can write your own message (think ahead to Valentine’s Day) or go with a preprinted “custom” item like sports team logos.
Meanwhile, travelers to New York City and DC will want to jump on this offer: Book your next stay with Affinia over a Sunday night from January 2 through March 31, 2013 in any guest room or suite and pay only $112.12 for the night— a miracle kind of price for a nice hotel in these cities. Need to stay longer? The Affinia brand will take 12% off our guaranteed best available rate for any additional nights if you reserve today.
Finally, Royal Caribbean is holding a one-day sale today. They will grant you $12 per day in onboard credits that you can spend on the ship (per cabin, not per person) on any 2013 cruise as long as you book today. This would mean that booking a five-day cruise today would net your cabin $60 to spend on the ship. Also be aware that grand suites and above will double the onboard credits to $24 per day per stateroom.
We realize this is an odd group of deals, but 12/12/12 is a rather odd date. So, head out and enjoy the discounts for this faux holiday.
