You may recall a post we wrote this past summer about Doctor Who Day at the Greenwood Public Library. Thanks to Cheapsters like you and many others in the community, Doctor Who Day was an overwhelming success and inspired the GPL to create an event called Nerd Proud. One night each month, the Library celebrates all things nerd-like, whether it be Harry Potter, Star Trek, Sherlock, or, of course, Doctor Who. This month’s theme is the show Firefly.
Nerd Proud takes place this month starting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12. A couple of things you can always expect at these evenings, regardless of the highlighted topic, are the opportunities to chat with fellow fans, compete in trivia, and make crafts (after all, who doesn’t want to own their Doctor Who sonic screwdriver?) Whether you’re just now starting to catch on to Firefly, are still mourning the ending, or have never seen Firefly and would like to hear about something new, consider yourself invited.
These events are always FREE, and those who attend have a strong say in which particular fandom is celebrated at the upcoming Nerd Proud nights. Have a great time tonight if you choose to go, and remember that the festivities start at 6:00 p.m.
