Not all of our Cheapsters have had the opportunity to watch Jimmy Buffett perform live in concert, but a unique idea involving drive-in theaters is making it a reality next month. Jimmy Buffett will be performing on June 19 with the Coral Reefer Band. The concert is taking place at the Coyote Drive-in in Forth Worth, Texas. On the surface, that would cancel out any Cheapster who didn’t fancy a long drive down to the Lone Star State.
However, drive-in theaters nationwide are going to be broadcasting the concert live, and Tibb’s Drive-in Theatre right here in Indianapolis and Canary Creek Drive-In Theatre in Franklin are among them. The concert may not be for almost a month, but tickets will go fast. Tickets are $18 per person, which is a great price to see a legend like Jimmy Buffett perform. You can purchase tickets from the Tibb’s Drive-in Box Office directly (only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays), or at the Slippery Noodle Inn (at 327 South Meridian Street).
The Jimmy Buffett show will begin at around 9:45 p.m., but Tibbs will have live entertainment starting at 7:30 p.m. You cannot bring outside food or beverages to the show, but Tibbs will be selling beer and wine along with “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” and other concessions. You don’t have to be wasting away in Margaritaville for this live concert – just trek to Tibb’s Drive-in.
