If you checked our page in November or December, seeing two posts about Christmas in the same week wouldn’t seem strange at all. Running into the same scenario in July seems a bit less likely, but even as we’ve celebrated Independence Day this week, we’re still enjoying the Christmas spirit. If you missed it, you can read the first such post about Pipers taking Christmas catering reservations this month, and now you can keep reading about seeing A Christmas Story for FREE.
Garfield Park is bringing back the days of outdoor Drive-In movies on warm summer nights. The first Friday of each month, you can take part in the “Bike-In” event, riding your bike into the park to see an outdoor movie for FREE. This first Friday in July (Friday, July 5), you can see A Christmas Story for FREE starting around 9:00 p.m. Local food trucks will be available, and you can enjoy the movie on the lawn just behind the Garfield Park Arts Center.
While it may seem unorthodox, at least you might as well do it with one of the best Christmas movies ever made – A Christmas Story.
