We have just over a week left until the greatest spectacle in racing – the Indianapolis 500. Drivers are pouring into Indianapolis to qualify for the big race and to take part in all the fun activities leading up to the Indianapolis 500 itself. One such fun activity is the American Family Insurance 500 Festival Community Day (a very long event title, but we digress). Community Day takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 22.
As to whether you should attend Community Day and participate in the fun, let us ask you just one question. Have you ever thought about how cool it would feel to take a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway? If you think that sounds like something you’d be interested in, you should definitely attend Community Day. You can take a lap around the track in your own car before the professionals take the stage for the Indianapolis 500.
Tickets to attend Community Day would cost $10 the day of the event, but you can click here and buy them earlier for just $8 per person. If you wish to take your car around the track, you’ll need to make sure you enter Gate 10 off 30th Street in your vehicle when you arrive. Whether you want to take a lap around the track or not, however, we encourage you to also check out tours of Pit Lane and the official timing and scoring area in the Pagoda. Also, your admission to Community Day will also include admission to the Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum. Before the Indianapolis 500, this is the coolest event happening in Speedway.
