When you’re a kid, summer is a fun time to play outside, swim in the pool, and enjoy the time off from school. However, the outdoor activities aren’t the only joys of summer. Reading a fun book can be a great time as well, as books can take you on adventures in your imagination. Barnes and Noble recognizes the potential fun experiences in reading. The fact that books are fun to read and enjoy is what keeps Barnes and Noble going strong while competing with other entertainment mediums (i.e. television).
And if you want to give your kids an extra incentive to spend at least part of their summers reading, let them in on the Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program. You can download the Reading Journal by clicking here, and then it’s all up to the kids. They can read any eight books of their choosing and record them in the reading journal. Once the journal is complete, bring it with them to your local Barnes and Noble store (you can click here to find a location). From there, the kids can choose a FREE book from their selection on the Reading Journal list.
Kids love the reward that comes with a FREE prize at the end, and will have plenty of fun reading along the way. And you’ll know that their minds aren’t completely unstimulated in a summer break of pool parties and sports. You can turn in the reading journal at a Barnes and Noble store any time between May 21 and September 3.
