We don’t know if it’s because it’s in the same month as Cinco de Mayo or because the weather is quickly transitioning to summer, but we often seem to gloss over the real meaning of Memorial Day. Compared to Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day tends to involve more focus on the hamburgers and hot dogs around the pool than recognition of our military.
Augustino’s Italian Restaurant certainly hasn’t forgotten who Memorial Day is celebrated for, and they have a deal to match.
And by the way, the deal isn’t simply the fact that they are open for business Monday, May 26. Augustino’s will be donating 10% of their total revenues on Monday (along with any extra donations) to GallantFew, Inc. They want to both honor the fallen heroes and and demonstrate to those who are still fighting for us that they are not forgotten either. To that end, everyone who has served or is serving in the armed forces will receive 50% off the cost of their meals all day on Memorial Day. It’s a small token of Augustino’s appreciation for service to this nation, and we hope you’ll accept our thanks at Indy on the Cheap as well.
