This weekend features another nationwide holiday in Art Museum Day. Museums across the nation are celebrating with freebies and discounts on admission for all visitors. In case you weren’t aware, the Indianapolis Art Museum is always FREE to visitors. With no price of admission, it’s one of the best deals you always have access to in the city. For that reason, you could be pardoned for wondering what sort of special the museum could possibly run for Art Museum Day. How does a group improve on FREE admission?
Well, the Indianapolis Art Museum is observing Art Museum Day on Saturday May 18. As always, you can enter for FREE. What’s a bit different for Art Museum Day is that you can take advantage of a couple of extra perks. The museum is offering FREE docent tours throughout the day. Additionally, visit during the afternoon for these two time-specific freebies:
- 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Bubble painting family program in Star Studio
- 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Ask Me Docents in the galleries
Also, as per usual for Saturdays April through October, you can enjoy a FREE hour-long art and nature-focused tour of the 100 Acres on the Museum’s grounds. That tour begins at noon at Lake Terrace.
