If you use Angie’s List often, you probably recognize it as a go-to place for recommendations from other people in the community on local services and the like. What makes Angie’s List work is the sense of helping to spread the word, good and bad, on services among people in the community. As convenient as that camaraderie has become over the internet, however, you only need to look outside to see that our physical interaction in the community has dwindled.
Be honest: how many of your neighbors do you feel like you truly know? If your answer isn’t very high, you can probably understand why Angie’s List is now launching a pilot program in Indianapolis called Band of Neighbors. Band of Neighbors is all about helping neighbors become engaged in each others’ lives in a way that benefits everyone. It’s designed with private forums so that neighbors with proof of residence can commune among themselves.
And as it happens, Angie’s List is holding the launch party for Band of Neighbors from 10:00 a.m. to noon this Saturday, March 16. The party is at Hinkle Fieldhouse, and everyone is invited to join in the food, games, and prizes. While you’re having fun at this FREE event, you can also learn more about how this online forum is building stronger and safer communities. You don’t have to buy tickets to this event, but Angie’s List wants you to let them you that you’re planning to attend. So, follow our link above at Band of Neighbors and register for the FREE fun this weekend.
