If you’ve been on the fence about whether to adopt a cat, this is the purr-fect month to give it some serious thought. We have to start with bad news for this post – Indy Animal Care and Control has too many cats in its shelters right now. Too many cats are anxiously awaiting a loving family to take them home. While that is a sad fact, we want to now give you the good news. This surplus means that Animal Care and Control is lowering the cost to adopt a cat to just $30 until the end of the month of September.
They are making a big push to find homes for these felines with the Purr-Fect Friends Adopt-A-Thon that began September 3. The goal is 200 adoptions in the month of September, and you can help achieve this goal. If you adopt a cat, you can count on a cute pet that tends to be lower maintenance than our canine friends. If you want to visit and see if the time is right for you to adopt a cat, you can stop by the shelter located at 2600 South Harding Street in Indianapolis. The weekday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (though Wednesdays are open an hour later). Saturday is normal hours, while they are closed on Sundays and holidays.
