We at Indianapolis On The Cheap believe that certain things deserve to be kept private. While we’re all about shedding light on deals, discounts, and freebies, we’re never going to ask you which medications you keep in your house. So, just in case you were ever worried about us asking you that, cross that off your list of things to stress about. We will point out, however, that you have an opportunity this weekend to clean out the medicine cabinet and rid yourself of any expired and unwanted medications.
The DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) isn’t a fan of citizens flushing these medications down the toilet or grinding them up in throwing them away. As such, they are holding a FREE event called National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 27. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the DEA will have drop-off locations for these medications set up across the state. You can search for the location nearest you by clicking here.
Just as a general disclaimer, we obviously aren’t recommending you pitch any medications you are currently taking that have not expired and are helping you with a present condition. Also, the DEA doesn’t really want to collect your illicit substances like marijuana or methamphetamine (not that any of our Cheapsters would dream of possessing these). For the sake of disclaimers, however, we wanted to bring it up ahead of time. Otherwise, have fun making room in your medicine cabinet this weekend.
