Thank you for protecting our freedom.

Today is Monday, November 4, which means we are exactly one week removed from Veterans Day. Many of you will already know this, but Veterans Day owes its roots to World War I. The Allied Nations and Germany stopped fighting when an armistice went into effect on November 11, 1918. While the Treaty of Versailles would officially end the war, November 11 was the day “the war to end all wars” finished. Armistice Day was a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but the fighting of World War II caused Congress to rename it Veterans Day.

We have fought multiple wars since then, but the idea on Veterans Day remains the same. We take a day to reflect on what the brave men and women of the military have done for us, and to thank them for their many sacrifices. Part of that gratitude means that our veterans and active military can enjoy FREE or at least discounted meals for Veterans Day at a long list of restaurants. Be prepared to show ID or proof of service in all cases. We will update this post on Friday as a reminder with any new additions we hear about, but here is the list as of now:
